Hiatus, again

Sorry folks. All my time is currently devoted (as the only child) to getting my elderly-and-fading mother full-time care and, ASAP, into some kind of home. It's a sad time watching her fade, sometimes day to day, but arranging for home care as a stop-gap until a permanent new home for her can be found is going to take some doing.

We think she had a mini-stroke sometime in the last month. Everyone who knows her, both casually and closely, has commented on how "something has changed". So I suspect that while she's not at death's door, she probably can see it on the horizon.

I'll be back to posting as soon as I can, but I hope you understand where my priorities need to be.

David,

Family first is a motto that I believe in strongly. I am an only child, and I have seen both my parents pass on....so I feel your emotions.

But trust me....the human body is much stronger than we often assume, so while people might change, even get weaker....the body often has a strong will to keep going, and incredible ability to do just that.

Never give up....but I totally understand you doing the right thing.

Good luck and may God bless you all.

David, take care of what you have to - family is always first. Your blog will be here as well as those of us that enjoy your musings and experiences. My prayers go out to you, your mom and the rest of your family. May God grant you the strength and grace to get you through these difficult days.

David -
This is a difficult situation, and of course your family responsibilities should come first. Good luck in finding the best possible situation for your mother and for you.
